Community choice energy coming to Silicon Valley in April

Residents and businesses in a number of South Bay communities have started to receive notices in the mail informing them of their automatic enrollment in a completely new program that will deliver renewable energy to electricity customers starting in Apr by way of PG&E.

Along much of the Pacific Northwest, hydroelectric dams, wind turbines, geothermal heat pumps and landfill systems work around the clock to convert natural resources to renewable energy as part of a movement toward a low-carbon, high-energy-efficiency economy.

And Silicon Valley, illustrious for setting trends, is hitching its wagon to the movement, hoping to pave the way for dozens of other communities in California.
