Los Gatos: Angry residents storm out of water meeting

A raucous crowd of Los Gatos and Monte Sereno residents booed San Jose Water Company vice president John Tang when he tried to explain why water bills have risen so dramatically this year. Tang’s explanations, additionally were repeatedly interrupted during the Nov. fourteen meeting at Los Gatos Town Hall.

The council chamber was at capacity until about half of the crowd walked out midway through the two-hour meeting.

Monte Sereno resident Richard Palmer was one of the people who left early. He commented he used 56 percent less water in 2015-16 than he did in 2013-14, yet his bill has risen 176 percent.

He commented Jan. 31, 2017, is the earliest the penalties could be lifted.
