Monte Sereno residents who want the city to reconsider zoning the First Baptist Community Church house for multi-family housing may take their case to court since the city has rejected their petition.

The petition was signed by an estimated 470 residents and called on the city to either rescind the multi-family zoning or put the issue on the ballot and let voters decide.

Baptist church officials have steadfastly rejected the notion of building multi-family housing on their house at 17765 Daves Ave.

But in a letter dated Jul fifteen Monte Sereno city clerk Andrea Chelemengos commented the so-called Referendum Against Resolution 3621 petition did not meet election standards.

Article length: About 250 words.
